The special feature of this project located close to the city center is the creation of a highly dense and excellently connected new urban neighborhood that is simultaneously overlaid with the designation “forest”. The urban planning, architectural, and open space planning solution for these seemingly contradictory designations lies in the clear spatial separation of the “residential” and “open space” areas on the one hand, and the simultaneous interweaving of these two opposites on the other hand.
The compact, hybrid construction building elements, located along the street lines, make it possible to keep the central courtyard as a “green center” with a forest character free of buildings, while creating a large-volume earth structure with forest planting.
